Dear CHEC TEAM:
PARCC Scores are in and public and we have a lot to celebrate! CHEC improved 6% in the percent of students in Levels 4 and 5 in Math, and 1% in ELA! CHEC is one of 32 schools in DC which increased the percent of students reaching Levels 4 and 5 in both ELA and Math!
Equally important, we decreased the percent of Level 1âs in ELA by 8%, and in Math by 7%!!
Our ELLâs increased in the percent of 4âs and 5âs by 4% in ELA, and 7% in Math! The number of ELLâs at level 1 in ELA decreased by 14% and in math by 19%!!! We are closing the achievement gap for our ELLâs!
We also had some spectacular gains beyond the average gains by two of our middle school grades:
Seventh Grade ELA and Math made spectacular gains â 7th Grade ELA increased 4âs and 5âs by 19%, and decreased level 1âs by 29%!! 7th grade Math increased 4âs and 5âs by 11%, and decreased level 1âs by 23%!
Sixth Grade Math increased 4âs and 5âs by 12% and decreased level 1âs to only 9%!
We will share the grade level and individual student results electronically tomorrow, and when the paper copies come, we will make them available for analysis and sharing with students and parents.
This was an amazing team effort, and congratulations and thank you to all of for these accomplishments! We still have work to do, but we are well on our way!!!!
